This book, published by Laurant and Zarcone, was published in 2017 and was translated into Turkish by Goncagül Artam in 2020. The book explains what the image of the deer represents in different cultures and religions throughout history. The book presents the reader in detail that deer has a different place in the human world of meaning and that its difference in this world of meaning is revealed in sacred texts, epics and legends. Thus, the emphasis on the universality of the deer came to the fore and the book was supported by many sources. The route of the deer, extending from the Western world to Central Asia and the Far East, has given the deer a unique definition. The influence of deer depiction on painting and sculpture has continued to be seen from ancient wall paintings to the present day. The purpose of the book is not to explain what the deer is, but to try to reveal the effects of a cultural synthesis.
Keywords: Deer, Symbol, Sufi.
